(TruthAndLiberty.com) – On Saturday during a campaign event in Waterloo, Iowa former President Donald Trump spoke about the terrorist attacks launched by Hamas, a militant terrorist group, against Israel. He further claimed that these were a result of the United States being seen internationally as “weak and ineffective.”

In regards to the attack, he added that Israel had the “right to defend itself.”

The former President argued that the attack occurred because the U.S. is seen as having a “weak leader” and has lost its position in world affairs. He added that things have changed around the world when compared to how they were three years ago.

Still, he claimed American taxpayer dollars were being used for the funding of these attacks, and he further stated that President Joe Biden and his administration are destroying the peace that they had brought to the Middle East after the Abraham Accords at an increasing pace.

Biden and Trump are likely to be facing off in 2024 as the two major parties’ presidential nominees. Biden himself released a statement following the terrorist assaults condemning them. He added that he spoke with Prime Minister Netanyahu and had made it clear that the U.S. was going to support the Israeli government and its people.

Many Republicans have criticized Biden following the attack, however, Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.)  took to X to defend Biden and argued that this was “partisan hackery” as people were trying to shift the blame for the attack, which only benefitted Hamas.
