(TruthAndLiberty.com) – Former president Donald Trump on Friday told the press standing outside the Manhattan courthouse that he wanted to start off his statement by wishing his wife, Melania Trump, a “very happy birthday.” Trump is currently in New York as he needs to be in attendance for the trial in his hush-money case.
Friday was the birthday of former first lady Melania Trump who turned 54. Trump pointed out that it would have been nice if he had been able to be with his wife. This was the statement he had made prior to entering the room for the fourth day of proceedings.
The hush money trial is the first criminal trial in U.S. history to have included a current or former U.S. President.
Trump continued by stating that instead of getting to spend the day with his wife he was forced to be at the courthouse for a “rigged trial” which he referred to as “terrible.” The former President has repeatedly claimed without providing any evidence that the judge handling his case is corrupt.
In New York, Trump is facing a total of 34 felony counts of falsifying business records relating to the payment he had made to reimburse former lawyer and fixer Michael Cohen. Cohen had been the one to make the $130,000 payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels on behalf of Donald Trump to keep her quiet about their alleged affair prior to the 2016 presidential election. Trump has pleaded not guilty to all charges and has repeatedly denied the affair.
