(TruthAndLiberty.com) – On Monday, Judge Juan Merchan stated that if former President Donald Trump chooses to testify then it will be possible that he will be asked about the several other rulings in the civil cases against him. This could potentially mean that he will also be questioned about the New York fraud case and the defamation case relating to writer E. Jean Carroll.

The Hill in its report noted that Merchan had opted to have prosecutors cross-examine Trump regarding six of the 13 rulings, however, they were also given the option of attempting to poke holes in the credibility of the former President in front of the jury.

As a result of this decision, prosecutors are able to ask Trump regarding the two rulings relating to the cases brought forward by Carroll. In those civil cases, Carroll had claimed that Trump had defamed her after she had come forward with her accusations of sexual assault. Merchan has also allowed for comments to be asked relating to the New York civil fraud trial involving former President Trump. In that case, it is claimed that for decades Trump and his organization had deflated and inflated the value of assets accordingly in order to receive more beneficial business deals.

The Manhattan District Attorney’s office has also been given the right to raise rulings where Trump had violated the gag orders against him in the fraud case, as well as a 2018 decision against his foundation.

Trump has often testified in his defense despite not being required to do so. On Friday, Emil Bove, the former president’s attorney had argued that Carroll’s case had been too sensational to be brought up and had pushed for the judge to not give prosecutors the right to mention it.
