(TruthAndLiberty.com) – On Wednesday, former President Donald Trump, who is the presumptive GOP presidential nominee, argued during a rally in Michigan that pro-life conservatives would need to fight for what they had in their heart if they wanted to implement abortion restrictions.
Trump delivered his speech at an airport tarmac and it was aired live on Newsmax and the streaming platform Newsmax2. During his speech, he told politicians that fighting for what they valued was important but that it was also important for them to get elected. He pointed out that this was not just important for the abortion issue, but also for other key issues including the military and taxes, which is why they needed to get elected. He pointed out that if they did not get elected then there were many other things that could possibly go wrong.
Trump was instrumental in the Supreme Court having a conservative majority, as he confirmed three justices to the country’s highest court during his administration. These three additions to the Supreme Court were instrumental in overruling the Roe v. Wade landmark case which had protected abortions nationwide for over five decades.
Trump pointed out that this was something that every legal scholar had wanted. However, the Democrats have been pushing for the importance of the right to abortion, and have been using this issue to win support against conservatives, as the majority of Americans do not agree with extreme abortion restrictions. Trump has maintained that this is not the case and that most Americans were actually in favor of “common sense” abortion restrictions that could save the lives of unborn children.
