(TruthAndLiberty.com) – On Friday during the 11th Circuit Judicial Conference, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas argued in front of attendees that for years he and his wife have had to deal with “lies” and claimed that Washington, D.C., was a “hideous place.”
While talking in front of attendees Thomas made the remarks while responding to a question that specifically related to working in a world that appears to be mean-spirited. He argued that there was a challenge to such a world and that in the last two to three years he and his wife have had to deal with a lot of “nastiness” and lies.
He continued that despite this there were choices and that while you could not prevent people from acting or saying horrible things, one could understand that these comments would not change them unless they allowed it.
Thomas in the past year has faced a lot of criticism after it came out that he had for decades accepted luxury gifts and trips from a Republican donor without ever reporting them. After the reports came out last year Thomas maintained that he did not need to report these particular trips as they had been gifts by one of his “dearest friends.”
His wife Ginni Thomas has also been heavily criticized for having used her Facebook page to speak up against Democratic President Joe Biden.
U.S. District Judge Kathryn Kimball Mizelle was the one to ask a wide range of questions covering different topics to Thomas, including questions about his former beliefs, court writings, and lessons he had taken from his grandfather.
