(TruthAndLiberty.com) – Former President Donald Trump officially stated in a post on his social media platform Truth Social that former Republican candidate Nikki Haley was not someone he was considering for the position of his running mate. This is despite the fact that even though she has dropped out of the race she continued to gather many anti-Trump votes.
Trump argued in his post that he was not considering Haley, who had previously served as his U.S. ambassador to the United Nations. However, he added that he wished her well.
Earlier on Saturday Axios had put out a report in which it had alleged that Haley was being considered for the vice president position by Trump. The publication quoted two sources “familiar” with the issue. However, Trump was quick to respond to the report and make it clear that she was not being actively considered.
In the report, it was argued that it would be for the best if Haley and Trump reconciled. It was also added that Trump was working to make up the fundraising deficit when compared to President Joe Biden and that Haley continued to have the support of many donors who were not open to supporting the former President.
However, if Trump and Haley partnered up then the Trump campaign would receive the support of the Republicans who could not otherwise be brought to his side. This is essential as these votes could be important to Trump winning in November against President Biden. On Tuesday, Haley received over 20 percent of the primary vote in Indiana.
