(TruthAndLiberty.com) – On Thursday, President Joe Biden slammed the pro-Palestine protests that have broken out across college campuses in response to Israel’s war in Gaza. In his statement, he condemned trespassing and vandalism and argued that only peaceful demonstration was federally protected.

The White House prepared Biden’s remarks in which he argued that at times like this there would be people who tried to exploit the situation in order to win political points. However, as he argued this was not a time for politics but rather for clarity. He added that violent protests did not have any protection and that only peaceful protests did.

Biden proceeded to call out what had happened at Columbia University and campuses across the United States, especially as the protests in these locations have intensified in recent weeks and the police have been called to disassemble encampments.

Biden argued that destroying property was illegal and that it was not a “peaceful protest.” He argued that destroying windows, trespassing, vandalism, and forcing universities to shut down their campuses and cancel classes were against the wall. He added that this was not a “peaceful protest” and that instead, the protesters were intimidating and threatening people.

Biden in his statement argued that he was currently not looking into potentially sending the National Guard out in response to the protests and had argued that the college campus protests had not affected his thoughts on Middle East policy.

Demonstrations have been ongoing across U.S. campuses, with protesters calling for a cease-fire in the war which has resulted in tens of thousands of people having lost their lives since Oct. 7, 2023.
