(TruthAndLiberty.com) – On Sunday at around 1:17 p.m., a driver in an SUV hit a group of migrant workers in a Walmart Parking lot in North Carolina.
The Lincolnton Police Department stated that a total of six migrant workers had been hit during the attack that appeared to be an “intentional assault.” The six victims were taken to Atrium Health Lincoln where their many different injuries were treated. However, none of those injuries were life-threatening according to the reports, which means that after treatment the migrants were allowed to leave the medical center on that same day.
Authorities released the video captured from the attack which shows a mid-sized black SUV being driven into a grassy area where the migrants had been standing. Daniel Gonzalez has been charged with a hit-and-run felony as a result of the incident.
Gonzalez had gone to the police department at 5:59 p.m. after many family members had instructed him to do so, as he had mentioned his involvement in the incident. Gonzalez reportedly told his family that he had accidentally hit the gas pedal and that following the accident he had fled the scene.
In the police release they note that all of the victims in this case have been identified and that following a consultation with the District Attorney’s Office there were charges filed against Gonzalez who also “received a $50,000 secure bond”.
A few months earlier a man had driven into a group of people who had been waiting outside a migrant shelter. That attack had resulted in eight deaths and 10 others being injured.
