(TruthAndLiberty.com) – Former President Donald Trump’s Republican allies are increasing their attacks against Tanya Chutkan, a Washington, D.C. District Judge, as well as against courts in Washington, D.C., generally arguing that it is not possible for Trump to have a fair trial in the city.

Chutkan, who is an appointee of former President Barack Obama, had previously ruled against Trump in an unrelated case regarding Trump surrendering presidential records to House investigators. In the past several years, she has risen in prominence because of the tough sentences she has often handed down to Jan. 6 defendants.

Other points have also been brought against her participation in the trial, including her contributions to the presidential campaigns of Barack Obama. Apart from the judge, many Republicans have also pointed out that it would be hard to get an unbiased jury. This means that a guilty verdict is going to be a lot more likely in D.C., which would also mean that the ruling of the court is not going to have the necessary legitimacy and impartiality.

American Majority founder and CEO Ned Yun argued that he did not believe any Republican thinks there is a possibility of a fair trial in D.C., with a jury and judge from the Capital. He added that this was completely unfair and that any reasonable person would think that if they wanted a fair trial, they would not hold the proceedings in D.C. He added that he believes the trial against Trump would not be legitimate or fair.
