(TruthAndLiberty.com) – Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene from Georgia stated in a recent tweet that even if former President Donald Trump goes to prison, she would still vote for him.
The tweet from Greene came after Trump’s third indictment this year. She wrote that this was a “communist attack” on the people’s right to choose who they want as their President by trying to take Trump completely off the 2024 presidential ballot. She then alleged that the Department of Justice had been politically weaponized, and the American people were entirely aware of what was happening.
Greene, who is one of Trump’s close allies, expressed support for the former President following his recent indictment in connection with his attempts to overturn the 2020 presidential election. Department of Justice Special Counsel Jack Smith announced four counts as part of this indictment, including conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding, and conspiracy against rights.
While Trump has been indicted twice before in the last year, this is the first time that the charges he is facing are related to his actions following his loss in the 2020 presidential election against President Biden.
The Trump campaign has maintained that the charges against Trump were “fake,” and they have questioned why it took more than two-and-a-half years for the Department of Justice to bring these charges forward. They have also maintained that this is an attempt to hinder Trump’s chances in the 2024 presidential election and that the charges were filed now as a distraction tactic so that people would not pay attention to the “Biden Crime Family.”
