(TruthAndLiberty.com) – On Monday, California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) during an interview with CNN’s Dana Bash stated that Vice President Kamala Harris was the best running mate for President Joe Biden in the 2024 presidential election. This endorsement comes at a time when several Democrats have suggested that Biden should look to replace her on the 2024 ticket.

When Bash asked Newsom if he believed Harris to be the best possible running mate for Biden, where she referenced an interview with former Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) in which she had not disclosed whether she viewed Harris as the best option, Newsom confirmed that she was the best option. He proceeded to praise the Biden-Harris administration for their performance and pointed out their successful bipartisan deals on guns, the debt ceiling, infrastructure, the CHIPS and Science Act.

He added that in his opinion the administration has been “one of the most outstanding administrations” in the past few decades and that Harris as a member of the administration can be credited with many of its successes.
Last week, three opinion columnists questioned the vice President’s political value and claimed that Biden should select a new running mate, especially following all the recent concerns regarding his age.

Pelosi also avoided answering questions about whether she believed Harris to be the best possible option for the position of running mate in the 2024 presidential election. Still, she praised the Vice President’s performance.

Similarly, Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) had referred to Harris as being “excellent” but had not disclosed whether or not she was the best option.
