(TruthAndLiberty.com) – Rep. Ritchie Torres, D-N.Y., recently argued that following the attacks from Hamas, a terror group, on Israel, the United States needed to provide its “unconditional” support to the country. However, this opinion is not shared by other progressive House Democrats.

According to Capitol Hill’s March Rod, Torres has stated that the United States needed to provide unconditional support to Israel especially now. HE argued that Congress needed to be decisive and provide Israel with the necessary support to defend itself against the terrorism it is facing. He proceeded to shame anyone who “glorifies as ‘resistance’” the attacks against the Jews which have led to hundreds of Israelis losing their lives.

These statements came after two “Squad” members placed the blame for the attack on Israel and called for the United States to stop providing the country with aid.

In a statement Rep. Cori Bush, D-Mo., started by lamenting the loss of lives caused by the attacks only to then state that the only way in which the violence in the area could end would be if the United States government stopped providing the “Israeli military occupation and apartheid,” its support. She argued that while the situation is being monitored, her office was open to assist those in the First District who have family and loved ones in the area.

These claims were also repeated by fellow Squad member Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich. Tlaib slammed the United States for providing Israel with “unconditional funding.” She also referred to the Israeli government as an “apartheid,” and expressed grief for the lives lost in both Israel and Palestine in the last week.
