(TruthAndLiberty.com) – The Secret Service has come under scrutiny following an incident where a demonstrator, believed to be armed, was spotted in close proximity to President Joe Biden’s Wilmington, Delaware residence.

The solitary demonstrator was identified in a bright yellow and orange vest, combined with khaki shorts and tan boots, as he strolled toward the Biden residence on a Sunday afternoon, as reported by a White House correspondent. The individual seemed to be carrying a weapon in a holster.

The protestor held a placard with inscriptions criticizing the Bidens on one side and questioning the president’s aliases on the other.

Details regarding whether the man was directed away remain uncertain, but the journalist’s account mentioned the presence of a Secret Service vehicle tailing him.

In a subsequent report, journalists observed the protestor as the president’s convoy passed nearby.

In response, Secret Service representative, Steve Kopek, mentioned that the man, while expressing his rights, did not interfere with the protection details of the Secret Service.

The incident led to reactions on social media platforms like X (previously known as Twitter), with one user highlighting the seemingly relaxed response of the Secret Service to an armed individual near the president’s residence.

Despite Delaware being a state that allows open carry, some voiced concerns over the proximity of armed individuals to the president. One individual emphasized the importance of federal protections surrounding the president.

President Biden often spends weekends at his Wilmington property or at his Rehoboth Beach house in Delaware. He had reached Wilmington the preceding Friday, attended church on Saturday, and left for the White House on Sunday. His journey continued to New York for the U.N. General Assembly.

In a related security concern, an armed individual was recently arrested outside an LA theater where Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a Democratic presidential hopeful, was scheduled to speak. Kennedy’s campaign mentioned their unfulfilled requests for Secret Service protection, stating that they would be requesting again.

Kennedy expressed optimism about potentially receiving Secret Service protection in a post on X.
