(TruthAndLiberty.com) – Former President Trump jokingly mocked President Biden’s son Hunter Biden for avoiding the closed-door congressional testimony on Wednesday.

During his campaign event in Iowa on Wednesday, Trump joked that Hunter Biden had accidentally gone to the wrong side of the U.S. Capitol, as he went to the Senate and not the House. The former president continued by arguing that the U.S. had a two-tier system of justice.

Trump’s remarks came on the day that Hunter Biden opted to give a press secretary instead of going in for his House deposition. The press secretary occurred on the Senate side of the Capitol. On Capitol Hill, the House and the Senate are considered separate branches of the Legislative Branch, with no control over one another. The presidential scion has faced a lot of scrutiny over Wednesday’s press conference and his refusal to participate in the deposition before Congress. He further used the press conference to reiterate that his father Joe Biden had never played any role in the business activities Hunter was involved in.

Following the press conference, there were people calling for Hunter Biden to be held in contempt of Congress. Many critics also pointed out that there were concerns about the relationship Joe Biden might have had with his son’s business dealingsĀ  as “goalpost shifting.” Hunter on the other hand has argued that the allegations against him were part of an attempt to hurt his father through belittling Hunter and his recovery efforts. He further claimed that his critics were trying to dehumanize him.

Hunter Biden maintained that his father Joe Biden had in no way been involved in any of his financial business dealings, including those relating to Ukrainian natural gas firm Burisma Holdings, or any of his business with Chinese investments.
