(TruthAndLiberty.com) – Former President Donald Trump took to his social media platform Truth Social on Friday to argue that Special Counsel Jack Smith needed to be arrested after the mishandling of the classified documents seized from Mar-a-Lago by prosecutors. On Friday, the prosecutors had informed Judge Cannon in a filing that the documents were no longer in their original order and box.
In his post, Trump argued that Smith had admitted that his team had tampered with the evidence and mishandled the boxes taken from his Mar-a-Lago home. He added that these documents had been used as a pretext to bring this fake case against him and that the actions had been politicized. He continued by claiming that the Witch Hunt needed to be put to an end immediately and that the cases against him should be dropped.
In the court filing on Friday, prosecutors had admitted that there were some boxes where the order of items had been changed when compared to the associated scans. This is despite the fact that prosecutors had originally claimed that the documents were in their intact form and order.
In the filing, one of the footnotes stated that the government acknowledged that this new revelation is inconsistent with the previous presentation of the material to the court by the counsel.
The filing had come after Trump’s co-defendants in the case had called for a delay as their lawyers were struggling to find certain documents that were not in their pre specified location in the evidence boxes. The FBI had seized a total of 33 boxes of documents from Mar-a-Lago, which are now central to a legal battle that Trump has referred to as a “scam.”
