(TruthAndLiberty.com) – Former Republican candidate Nikki Haley had welcomed her husband Maj. Michael Haley is back in the country following the end of his one-year deployment.
Haley shared in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, that she had finally taken a breath now that they were together again after a year. She added that she was thankful for her husband’s return following his deployment with the South Carolina National Guard and that this was the “end of a year-long prayer.”
Haley’s husband had served in the 218th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade as a staff officer. In the post that Haley had shared on social media, she had also included photos of her children embracing her husband, as well as holding a sign that read “Welcome Back Dad.”
In June 2023, Haley bid her husband goodbye during The Citadel ceremony. His deployment had come just as Haley’s campaign was starting to kick off, however, the former United Nations ambassador withdrew from the presidential race last month.
Nikki and Michael Haley have been married for 27 years and had been a familiar face on Haley’s campaign trail during her previous campaigns for political office. Former President Donald Trump mocked Nikki Haley for her husband not being by her side this year, despite the reason for his absence being his deployment.
At one of his rallies, Trump had questioned where Haley’s husband was and then mocked how he was “away” and “gone.” Following these comments, Trump received a lot of criticism, with many people claiming that he constantly disrespected the military and the sacrifices made by military families.
