(TruthAndLiberty.com) – NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley recently expressed his candid views on the political landscape and key figures in the upcoming 2024 presidential race during a CNN appearance. Co-hosting the new show “King Charles” alongside Gayle King, Barkley shared his lack of enthusiasm for former President Donald Trump, describing Trump’s supporters as a “small little group of nutty people” and criticizing Trump’s leadership style as focused on retribution and revenge against political adversaries.

Barkley, emphasizing his impartiality towards both major political parties, likened Trump’s supporters to an unreliable “drunk friend” and further labeled them as “crazy,” questioning Trump’s suitability for the presidential role. Despite Trump’s lead in some key battleground states according to a New York Times/Siena College poll, Barkley remains critical.

Turning his attention to President Biden, Barkley acknowledged Biden’s remarkable life and career but voiced concerns about his age. Comparing the responsibilities of a president to driving a car, Barkley expressed reservations about Biden, who is 81, running the country at an advanced age. He pointed out the potential of Biden being 86 by the end of a second term, should he be re-elected.

Biden himself, at a recent fundraiser in Massachusetts, hinted at the influence of Trump’s potential candidacy on his own decision to run for a second term. Biden suggested that his motivation to run again partly stems from a determination to prevent Trump from returning to the White House, highlighting what he and many Democrats see as a threat Trump poses to American democracy. Biden’s candid remarks underscore the high stakes and deeply personal nature of the upcoming election cycle.
