(TruthAndLiberty.com) – In over 200 cities across the nation, the rate of homicides has reduced by around 20 percent.

AH Analytics, a criminal justice consulting firm found that there was a decrease in the 208 cities they examined. When compared to last year the murders were down by around 20.4 percent.

Last month, President Biden also reported a decrease in crime rates across the country following the new FBI data which showed that in cities with over 1 million people, there has been a 1 percent crime reduction in 2023.

The data found that as of Sunday in Philadelphia there has been a decrease of 37 percent in homicide rates when compared to last year. The decrease extended to other major cities as well with Washington D.C., seeing a 25 percent decrease, New York City with a 23 percent decrease and Detroit with 28 percent. The largest decrease was noted in Baltimore with murders going down by 37 percent.

AH Analytics co-founder and analyst Jeff Asher told The Wall Street Journal that the decrease in homicides mirrors the decrease that occurred in the mid-1990s.

Asher pointed out that there were many places that exhibited these positive trends. He added that there was a similar situation occurring across the nation and that it potentially can happen in larger terms in both the percentages and the decreased numbers.

Last month the release from the FBI showed that the number of homicides in large cities had decreased by 13 percent following the spike in the rates in 2020. The FBI’s Uniform Crime Report showed that in 2020 there was a 30 percent increase when compared to 2019.
