(TruthAndLiberty.com) – On Tuesday a judge ruled that former President Donald Trump had for years committed fraud against insurers and banks while building his real estate empire. Trump has repeatedly denied these accusations and has stated that the Trump Organization is a “great company” and that this was part of the “politically motivated witch hunt” against him.
New York Attorney General Letitia James had previously brought against the Trump Organization, Trump, and his adult sons a $250 million civil lawsuit in which the Trumps are accused of having overvalued their companies’ assets and net worth to receive more beneficial deals.
On Monday, Trump slammed Engoron claiming that he was a “Trump hater.” He further argued that he was being sued unfairly by James over claims that he had inflated his Financial Statements. He added that the case had been blocked from going to the “Commercial Division” because of Engoron who is a “Trump Hater.”
Following the ruling Alina Habba, Trump’s lawyer released a statement stating that the decision had been “fundamentally flawed” which is why they would be appealing the decision, as Trump was entitled to have a day in court, which currently they were blocked from doing.
Engoron in his ruling had found that the defendants had repeatedly made false financial statements in order to gain access to lower insurance premiums and better loan terms.
Engoron also pointed out that Trump’s claim that there was a “disclaimer clause” that warned everyone to not rely on the financial statements attached, did not absolve them from any wrongdoings related to this case.
