(TruthAndLiberty.com) – Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe Biden, has filed a series of motions challenging the gun charges filed against him in Delaware. His indictment had been filed by special counsel David Weiss, who the younger Biden argued had been facing “political pressure” to bring forward the case.
Biden’s legal team in their filings pushed to have the case completely dismissed dubbing it “vindictive prosecution.” Hunter Biden has also brought forward a number of challenges including one where he claimed that it had been illegal for Weiss to be appointed to the Special Counsel role.
In some of his other filings, he addresses the gun charges, for which he was previously planning to plead guilty under a plea deal that would have granted him immunity, arguing that despite his drug usage the Second Amendment had protected his right to purchase a firearm.
In the plea deal, Biden argued that under the plea agreement, he would be required to join a pretrial diversion program over his lies regarding his drug usage at the time of purchasing the firearm. As he claimed this had been the national plan by Weiss for handling this particular case.
Biden’s legal team in a 69-page filing stated that the announcement of the plea agreement had drawn a lot of criticism from extremist House Republicans, including former President Donald Trump and the conservative media. He added that they had made it clear that they were looking to have Weiss maintain the litigation against him throughout the presidential election. However, as they point out Weiss was forced to change his mind because of the political pressure, which has led to Hunter Biden’s legal team now arguing that the charges against him are politically motivated.
