(TruthAndLiberty.com) – On Monday, former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) attacked Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) stating that he was “pathetic” and “sad” for claiming recently that he would be willing to serve in a role in a possible second Trump administration.

McCarthy had claimed on Sunday that he would be willing to accept a role in the Trump administration if it was “the right position” and if he believed he was the best possible person to fill that role. McCarthy also announced that at the end of this year, he would be resigning from his position in the House.

Cheney stated in an MSNBC interview that she was surprised by the remarks McCarthy had made arguing that in a way they were “pathetic.” As she argued there was this one element that showed that it was not important what Donald Trump had done to the U.S. Congress, or McCarthy.  As she pointed out in a way this was like “going back for more.”

As she argued she found it “sad” but she also believed that history would show that McCarthy had not been willing to do the right thing when making his decision, and the damage that had caused.

During his time as Speaker, McCarthy had been a Trump loyalist constantly supporting the former President. However, a few months earlier when McCarty was ousted from his position, Trump did not extend him the same decency.

Cheney’s criticisms of the former President are often connected to Trump’s actions following the 2020 presidential election. Cheney has frequently blasted Trump for the violence that had occurred on Jan. 6, 2021, when a group of his supporters had stormed into the U.S. Capitol.
