(TruthAndLiberty.com) – Republican Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-Okla.) has warned the House GOP that President Biden cannot be impeached for actions and crimes that he has committed prior to becoming the U.S. president in 2020. He further stated that these could not lead to his removal from office.

In an interview with Newsmax, Mullins spoke about the House GOP probe into the foreign business activities of the Biden family, and especially Hunter Biden’s foreign business deals that were concluded during the time that Biden had served as the vice President in the Obama administration. As he warned it was possible that any misdemeanor and high crime could ultimately serve as the basis for impeachment articles so long as it was committed during the time that Biden was holding the office that he is currently in.

He proceeded to point out that this could potentially mean that whatever Biden had done during his time as Vice President, or even between his two times in office, could end up not being impeachable.

In the interview on Newsmax’s “Wake Up America,” he added that if the House GOP ended up sending a case to the Senate then they would need to make sure that it was “convictable.” He added that currently, the bar was very high and that there were no questions regarding that.

Senate GOP Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) along with a number of Senate Republicans that had voted for former President Donald Trump to be acquitted had done so on the technical ground that Trump was no longer serving in office.
