(TruthAndLiberty.com) – On Sunday, Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) stated that he was “shaken” by the Saturday attacks by Hamas on several locations in Israel. As Booker revealed following the coordinated attacks he and his staff were forced to seek shelter in Jerusalem.

As he wrote in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, he had been in Israel at the time of the terror attacks by Hamas. He added that his team and himself were safe but that they had been shaken by the violence that had occurred which had resulted in thousands of people losing their lives, while many others were taken as hostages or were injured.

Booker also posted a video on X in which he spoke about what occurred in Jerusalem right after the start of the attack and how he had been advised to head back to his hotel. He added that he was then told to take shelter in the hotel’s bomb shelter under the staircase.

He then noted that at the time there had been many people who were frightened around him, including families, children, the elderly, and many Americans who were taking shelter. He added that at the time everyone was overcome by a sense of worry and fear as you are aware of the horrific things that are happening across the country at the same time.

Earlier on Sunday Booker’s office confirmed that both Booker and his staff had left Israel on that day bringing their visit to the country to an early end caused by the violence. Last Friday Booker arrived in Israel with the plan to stay until Tuesday.
