(TruthAndLiberty.com) – Republican lawmaker Claudia Tenney (R-N.Y.) put through a nomination for former President Donald Trump to receive a Nobel Peace Prize over his instrumental role in the Abraham Accords. This nomination came only a few days after a drone attack in Jordan resulted in the death of three U.S. service members.

Tenney in his statement touted the Abraham Accords, which was the first peace agreement in the Middle East in almost three decades. The agreement bettered the relationship between the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Israel. As he pointed out for decades there had been an insistence by foreign policy experts that it was impossible to have a new peace agreement in the region without having first a resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. However, as he noted Trump had managed to prove them wrong.

Trump, who is leading the 2024 Republican primary presidential race, has been nominated several times for the award in the past. In 2022 he had been nominated by a Norwegian official for his work in brokering a relationship between Israel and Israel. In the past, four Australian law professors had also nominated him.

Tenney in his statement noted that President Trump had made valiant efforts to create the Abraham Accords which are the only agreement of this type to have not been recognized by the Nobel Peace Prize Committee. He also used his statement to blast President Biden for what he considered “weak” leadership which was dangerous to the country’s security. He added that Trump’s strong leadership should be recognized as well as his efforts for world peace.
