(TruthAndLiberty.com) – Former Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) in an interview on MSNBC’s “Andrew Mitchell Reports” slammed former President Donald Trump for being “palsy-walsy” with Russian President Vladimir Putin. She also criticized Trump for their approach to providing aid to Ukraine in the war.

Last week, Trump had suggested that Europe needed to step up and provide assistance and money to Ukraine. Pelosi however argued against this suggestion about Europe contributing more. As she said this was just an indication of how irresponsible Trump was in his behavior and relationship with Putin. She continued by pointing out that Trump had shown a tremendous lack of values, knowledge, and even commitment to democracy with this action.

For months Trump has been skeptical about the United States giving any further assistance to Ukraine as it defends itself against Russia. He also claimed that it was not vital to the interests of the United States that they provide assistance to Ukraine, while also pointing out that it should be Europe that should be providing most of the assistance. His views have been heavily influential with his congressional allies as many of them are arguing against the passage of Ukraine aid in the House.

Pelosi continued by saying that it was “heartbreaking” that they have not been able to pass aid for months through the Republican-controlled House. She continued by saying that it was sad and even referenced some of the people in the House who have been against aid including Foreign Affairs Committee Chair Michael McCaul (Texas) and House Intelligence Committee Chair Mike Turner (Ohio).

Earlier this month both McCaul and Turner stated that they are very concerned about the reach that Russian propaganda has.
