(TruthAndLiberty.com) – Former Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) blasted the leaders of the Democratic party who did not issue clearer statements condemning the attacks launched by Hamas against Israel.

Specifically, McCarthy slammed during a Tuesday interview the statement by Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) who had called for the United States to stop providing aid to Israel following one of the deadliest terror attacks in its history by Hamas.

As McCarthy stated during the interview on Fox News Radio’s “The Guy Benson Show” Tlaib had called for an end to the United States providing unconditional support to the Israeli “apartheid government.” She also added that the funding allowed the continuation of this cycle of violence.

The former speaker stated that what was particularly sad about this statement was that neither Hakeem Jeffries nor President Biden denounced the statement. About Jeffries specifically, he argued that he was not capable of standing up against antisemitism within his conference.

On Tuesday the White House responded to the Congress members who had released statements calling for a ceasefire or who did not outright express support for Israel stating that these statements were “disgraceful.”

Karine Jean-Pierre, the White House Press Secretary stated that she had seen some of those remarks during the weekend and that she believed they were wrong. This statement was made in response to what the President’s reaction was to those Congress members who had drawn a comparison between the actions taken by Hamas and those taken by the Israeli government.
