(TruthAndLiberty.com) – Former New Jersey governor and 2024 hopeful Chris Christie in a recent appearance on CNN Primetime, claimed that former President Donald Trump was the “cheapest person” he had met in his entire life following the recent allegations about Trump using part of his campaign donations to cover the legal fees for his recent legal cases.
While talking about Trump, Christie stated that the “self-professed billionaire” had been moving donations from his 2024 PAC to his Save America PAC, which Trump had previously used to cover some of his legal expenses. Thus far in 2023, Trump has diverted more than $1.5 million into the Save America PAC according to a recent report by The New York Times.
Trump has faced a number of legal woes in recent years. These latest reports came after Trump pleaded guilty to more than 30 charges of falsifying business records in a New York case relating to his alleged hush money payment, and to more than 37 counts relating to Special Counsel Jack Smith’s classified documents investigation.
Christie told CNN Primetime host Kaitlan Collins, that Trump is a billionaire and yet does not seem to be able to use any of his own money for his personal legal fees. He then proceeded to question why Trump was using money that was coming from the public to cover his legal costs.
This was a question he answered on his own by arguing that Trump was the “cheapest person” he had met in his entire life which was why he was not spending his own money for this. He then argued that Trump is also very good at spending other people’s money.
In his statement, he also noted how most people who write a check for Trump’s campaign think that they are covering campaign expenses and not Trump’s legal fees.
