(TruthAndLiberty.com) – A heat wave is expected to heat a large part of the Great Plains and Northeast, as well as the region from South California to southern Michigan. This week over 100 million people will be in areas with heat alerts as the heat wave that had previously not hit certain areas in the Midwest and Northeast is expected to hit those areas.

According to recent forecasts, on Wednesday record high temperatures will be seen across Arizona, including in Tucson and Phoenix, as well as in Texas. The Southwest has for months now been experiencing a trend of record-breaking temperatures hitting different areas.

On Tuesday the temperature in Phoenix reached 119F, which is the fourth-highest temperature the city has ever recorded. The heat wave does not appear to be easing as it will now be moving toward the northern part of the country. New York City is also expected to experience the effects of the increase in temperature as the city is expected to have record-high temperatures on both Thursday and Friday.

Later in the week, Boston, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C. are all expected to deal with an increase in the temperature with the areas possibly having temperatures in the triple digits.

Over the weekend it is expected that temperatures in the Midwest and Northeast are going to drop, however, that is not the case in the Southwest and South where there is currently no expectation of the temperatures dropping. Many cities including Tampa and Las Vegas are likely going to hit a record for the hottest July.
