Republican Florida Governor DeSantis snapped at a reporter who questioned why he was not taking any questions from voters while taking photos with his supporters in the crowd of one of his campaign stops in New Hampshire.

DeSantis responded to the question asked by the associated Press reporter Steve Peoples on Thursday, by saying that there were people in the crowd who were approaching him and talking to him. He then asked twice if the man is blind and that there are many people who are approaching him and talked to him about any topics they wanted.

The video taken from the encounter was posted on Twitter. In the clip, DeSantis can be seen with members of the crowd during his campaign event and taking photos with them. The event took place in New Hampshire, which is where the first Republican primary is scheduled to take place. Iowa is going to be the state of the first caucuses.

According to an NBC News report, DeSantis had chosen not to respond to any questions “from his lectern” so that all potential voters could hear his answers. DeSantis’ press secretary Bryan Griffin also reacted to the video of the incident, claiming that the Associated Press reporter had asked that question during a time when the Florida governor Ron DeSantis was talking with voters in New Hampshire and answering their questions. He proceeded to state that this was a prime exhibit of what the modern media did and how they attempted to push forward the narrative they were creating.
