(TruthAndLiberty.com) – A new ABC News/Ipsos survey has found that the majority of American voters want the Supreme Court to either rule that former President Donald Trump is disqualified from appearing on the state ballot or allowing states the choice of whether or not he should appear on the ballot.

Around 30 percent of respondents in the poll stated that the Supreme Court justices should rule that Trump be removed from the presidential race ballots across the United States. Another 26 percent argued that it should be up to each individual state to decide whether or not Trump was to be removed from the state ballot. Finally, the remaining 39 percent stated that they wanted the Supreme Court to rule that Trump was eligible to appear on all ballots across the states.

Additionally, 53 percent of Americans in the poll stated that they believed that the ruling of the Supreme Court justices would be on the basis of law. However, 43 percent stated that they believed the ruling of the Supreme Court was going to be based on how each Justice viewed Trump politically.

Trump has so far been disqualified by the Colorado Supreme Court and the Secretary of State of Maine from appearing in their respective state ballots citing the 14th Amendment’s “insurrection clause” and Trump’s involvement in the Jan. 6, 2021 attack as the reason.

The Supreme Court is going to be hearing arguments on whether or not the ruling in Colorado should stand on February 8. Their ruling is expected to come soon after the hearing.
