(TruthAndLiberty.com) – Former President Donald Trump responded to those GOP members and conservatives, including Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) who had criticized his statement on abortion earlier that day. Trump had decided in his statement to not express support for a 15-week national ban arguing instead that abortion restrictions should be left to individual states.
In a post on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump argued that Graham was doing a disservice to the GOP and the country. He further argued that those who were pushing for stricter abortion laws were also committing political malpractice.
Trump argued that all Legal Scholars had referred to the end of Roe v. Wade as a Great Event and that often these types of events came with difficulties. As he pointed out abortion had cost many GOP candidates to lose in their elections. He continued by noting that people like Graham were unrelenting which would lead to them handing the Democrats the majority in Congress and even possibly the White House.
Trump in his post also noted that there was no chance the Democrats would ever approve of any legislation that would put limits on abortion like the ones that Graham and conservatives are favoring. These types of measures would limit abortion access across the nation following the end of Roe v. Wade.
The former President added in his post that abortion was an issue loved by the Democrats who were trying to keep the conversations going for as long as the GOP would lead them. He added that many GOP candidates had failed in getting the abortion case overturned until he had come along and done it.
