(TruthAndLiberty.com) – First Lady Jill Biden in collaboration with singer Christina Aguilera has been urging voters to register to vote in the upcoming elections in November in support of abortion rights.
Biden spoke about the 2022 Supreme Court decision that overturned abortion rights and determined that they are not constitutionally protected by arguing that it was a “shocking and devastating ruling.” She added that following this ruling many states have implemented abortion bans that could cause threats to the lives and health of women across the United States.
Aguilera continued with the message stating that under these abortion bans doctors could be prosecuted for doing their jobs and that extremists were threatening access to contraception and IVF.
The text displayed on the script during the message noted that 1 in 3 American women of reproductive age are currently living in states that have put in place abortion bans. Biden and Aguilera in their message pointed out the negative effects that a federal abortion ban could have.
As they argued it could lead to “shame, punishment, danger, even death.” Jill Biden continued by noting that this was the work of extremists who were trying to move the country backward towards a time that was previously believed to be gone.
Aguilera also noted that reproductive health care decisions should be up to women and their doctors, rather than politicians. She continued by saying that she did not want to let her daughter live in a world where politicians were the ones who decided what to do with her body.
The message is part of the 2024 Biden reelection campaign, as President Biden is preparing to face off with former President Donald Trump in the November election.
