(TruthAndLiberty.com) – On Tuesday the father of one of the 13 U.S. service members that lost his life in the Kabul airport terrorist attack two years ago blasted President Biden on Capitol Hill. Mark Schmitz, Marine Lance Cpl. Jared Schmitz’s father, claimed that Biden was a “disgrace to this nation” and that he was the U.S. president who had the most “American blood” on his hands.
Schmitz’s son had been killed by a bomb on Aug. 26, 2021 at Kabul airport while the U.S. military was withdrawing from Afghanistan. During a roundtable discussion before the House Foreign Affairs Committee with many other Gold Star family members, he argued that no one has been held accountable for the deaths. He added that the “so-called leader” of this country has not once spoken the names of the people killed.
He continued to say that Biden was a “disgrace to this nation” and he should not have the “ultimate command” over the nation’s military. He further argued that he regretted not telling all of this to the President when he had the chance in Dover, but that at the time his mind was on “receiving my son’s lifeless body stateside.” He added that out of respect for the other families he had remained quiet and that even now he was “biting” his tongue rather than stating everything about how his son’s life and future was stolen.
The Gold Star families have repeatedly blasted the Biden administration over the Afghanistan withdrawal and the decisions that they have made. They have also claimed to have been given incorrect or incomplete information about the incident that caused the death of their family members.
