A recent CNN poll released on Thursday found that 66 percent of Americans believe that a second term for President Biden in 2024 would be a “disaster” or a “setback” for the United States.

When presenting the poll results, CNN anchor Jake Tapper revealed that was “horrible news” for President Biden and that the numbers were “bad.”

CNN political director David Chalian also analyzed the poll which more specifically found that 41 percent of Americans stated that a win by President Biden in 2024 would be a “disaster.” Similarly, a win by former President Donald Trump was deemed to be a “disaster by 44 percent of Americans. However, where the results differed was in the number of people who called a win by either of these candidates a “setback.” Specifically, while 26 percent characterized a second Biden win as a “setback” only 12 percent stated the same about Trump winning.

Moreover, 27 percent stated that a win by Trump or Biden respectively was a “step forward.” Finally, Trump was leading Biden in the number of people who called a win by him a “triumph” by 10 percentage points.

Chalian explained these reports by arguing that Trump’s hardcore supporters were more “into him” than Biden’s hardcore supporters were.

Tapper proceeded to state that while the results are bad for both candidates, it is “worse for Biden.” Finally, he argued that this election race is not one that is supported by the American people.

Currently, polls show little enthusiasm for Biden running again, with many Americans stating they are concerned about his age.
