(TruthAndLiberty.com) – Former Rep. Liz Cheney (Wyo.) in a recent interview on CBS News’s “CBS Sunday Morning” with John Dickerson referred to a possible Republican majority in 2024 as a possible threat to the United States.

Cheney, who had been a top-ranking House Republican prior to losing her state’s primary in the last election. During the interview, she argued that she was a strong supporter of the Republican Party’s ideals and principles, but argued that currently the GOP had made a choice and it was not in support of the Constitution. She argued that this was why she believed that the Republican party winning a majority in 2024 could be a “threat” to the country.

Cheney has been a vocal critic of former President Donald Trump ever since the events of Jan. 6, 2021, when a crowd of his supporters attacked the U.S. Capitol. On Tuesday, Cheney released her new book “Oath and Honor: A Memoir and a Warning” in which she criticizes the GOP following their attack on the U.S. Capitol.

Cheney was one of the two Republicans in the House Jan. 6 select committee, where she had served as the vice chair. However, her criticisms of the former President resulted in her losing her position after the August 2022 primary.

Dickerson pointed out that in her book Cheney notes that Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.), who was a non-well-known congressman at the time, was involved in the attempts of Trump to overturn the results of the presidential election in 2020.
