(TruthAndLiberty.com) – Lawmakers on both sides have been looking over some of the nuances of the report by Special Counsel Robert Hur into President Joe Biden’s case of classified records.

National security lawyers have argued that both sides have been ignoring the fact that there were no charges recommended against Biden and that the report had cleared the president completely. As they pointed out this decision was not because of any memory issues exhibited by Biden during the investigation.

National security law expert Mark Zaid argued that the ignorance that they had exhibited was “overwhelming” and argued that it undermined their credibility. He further argued that both sides have been acting in a way that would help bolster their political stance and ideology. He added that Democrats had not acknowledged the “harmful” assignments relating to Biden’s actions while also drawing a comparison between him and former President Donald Trump. He added that the Republicans had also failed to reconcile and understand the differences between the two cases.

He then pointed out that the majority of these people are experienced lawyers and that making the current interpretation did not “require rocket science.”

This week during a five-hour hearing the Republicans had focused on the language relating to whether the documents had been “willfully retained” and argued that this acted as Biden’s “get out of jail free” card.

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) referred to it as the “senile cooperator theory” while Rep. Tom McClintock (R-Calif.) had claimed that essentially they were saying that one could take classified documents and would get away with it if they argued that their memory was not very good.
