(TruthAndLiberty.com) – On Wednesday, former President Donald Trump slammed President Joe Biden ahead of his trip to East Palestine, Ohio.
Trump in his statement on his social media platform Truth Social argued that this is something that Biden needed to have done a long time ago and that it was “an insult” to those who lived and worked in the area that his visit would come almost a year after the train derailment in the area. The incident had led to toxic chemicals spilling in the community.
Trump in his post also questioned whether or not anyone would want Biden there and argued that he knew that Biden did not want to be there. However, he added that these were people who had been hurt by Biden’s lack of caring last year and that they were smart and politically savvy.
Biden is set to make the trip to East Palestine on Friday following the invitation of the mayor according to the White House. There he will meet with both community leaders and residents who had been affected by the Feb. 3, 2023 incident.
The Norfolk Southern train which had been derailed in the area carried toxic chemicals, including vinyl chloride, which ended up spilling into the area. The toxic spill resulted in concerns about the environment and health of those in the region.
The White House has continued to point out that only hours after the derailment the Environmental Protection Agency officials were in the community to check on residents and provide them with guidance.
