(TruthAndLiberty.com) – The Democratic National Committee (DNC) has paid the legal fees for President Biden related to the special counsel’s investigation into his handling of classified documents, even as his campaign criticizes the Republican National Committee (RNC) for covering former President Trump’s legal expenses amid multiple criminal indictments.

The DNC funded legal services provided by Bob Bauer, a lawyer who previously served under President Obama and is married to Anita Dunn, a senior White House adviser. Bauer was hired to manage the fallout from Biden’s classified documents issue. According to a report by Axios, from July 2023 to February 2024, Bauer and other attorneys received over $1.05 million to represent Biden during the investigation led by Special Counsel Robert Hur.

DNC spokesman Alex Floyd, in a statement to Fox News Digital, emphasized the DNC’s financial integrity, stating, “There is no comparison – the DNC does not spend a single penny of grassroots donors’ money on legal bills, unlike Donald Trump, who actively solicits legal fees from his supporters and has drained every available resource like a personal piggy bank.”

This disclosure arises as the Biden campaign criticizes Trump for using campaign funds to settle his legal debts. The Biden campaign has recently highlighted Trump’s alleged financial mismanagement, questioning his strategy of asking donors to cover personal expenses rather than campaign costs.

Julie Chavez Rodriguez, Biden’s campaign manager, contrasted their fundraising approach with Trump’s, describing it as reliant on limited and billionaire-sourced funds being diverted to legal fees.

In response, the Trump campaign accused Biden and the Democrats of duplicity, arguing that while they denounce Trump for funding his legal defenses through campaign donations, they covertly used DNC funds to pay for Biden’s legal challenges.

Floyd noted that Trump’s committees have expended tens of millions on his legal defenses and have actively sought donations to address these expenses. In contrast, Biden’s campaign has reportedly not used the president’s legal issues as a basis to solicit donations from supporters.
