(TruthAndLiberty.com) – Former President Donald Trump’s attorney Alina Habba mocked Letitia James, the Democrat New York Attorney General, following an appeals court determined that the bond that Trump is required to pay is significantly lower than the multimillion-dollar civil fraud penalty.

On Monday during an appearance on Fox News’s “Jesse Watters Primetime,” Habba noted when the host had asked her about the decision made about reducing Trump’s bond from $464 million to $175 million, that they had “won.” She proceeded to say that while they might not have won, what they will win is that they are going to get this entire case reversed.

Habba had proceeded to slam not only James but also Judge Arthur Engoron, who had ordered originally that Trump needed to pay $355 million before interest. In the ruling, Engoron had determined that former President Trump had conspired to lie about his net worth in an attempt to get favorable treatment from insurers and banks.

The judge also ordered that Trump be required to pay “prejudgement interest” for every day that the penalty remained unpaid. This meant that for each passing day, the accrued interest for the debt was $112,000 bringing the total bond amount to $464 million. However, the appeals court determined that Trump’s bond needed to be lowered.

Habba argued that what had happened showed that James needed to backtrack and take back all of the posts that she had made since Engoron’s ruling and pointed out that the previous ruling was not only unjust towards Trump but also towards all American people.
