(TruthAndLiberty.com) – Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) noted that the U.S. Intelligence Community needed to “dumb down” the briefings that they provided to former President Donald Trump, especially when they related to classified material. This suggestion came after concerns emerged about whether or not Trump was able to share the information in question.

Schiff blasted Trump over the criminal charges that he is facing, especially in the classified documents mishandling the case.

Schiff’s statement had been made on Sunday during an interview on NBC “Meet the Press.” As he argued there has never before been a case where a candidate for the White House had been “criminally negligent” in the way that they handled classified information. He added that he was hoping that the Intelligence Community knew, much like he did, that they needed to dumb down former President Donald Trump’s briefing.

He continued by pointing out that they wanted to avoid providing Trump with any information that went beyond what was completely necessary and that they would not provide him with access to any methods or sources as he cannot be trusted to do the right thing relating to this information.

Trump is facing a federal criminal case in Florida relating to the classified documents that he had transported from the White House to his home in Mar-a-Lago, Florida. The case was further complicated by the fact that it was argued that Trump had misled federal investigators who had attempted to gain back access to the documents.

Schiff is currently running for the Senate in California and has been involved in the impeachment of the former President.
