(TruthAndLiberty.com) – On Thursday,  former President Donald Trump was in attendance during the wake of New York Officer Jonathan Diller, who had been gunned down during a traffic stop on Monday. This move was in alignment with his campaign messaging about the increasing crime problem in the city.

The former President had arrived at the funeral home in Long Island at close to 2 p.m. The visitation for the 31-year-old officer, who had been fatally shot below his bulletproof vest had been held in Massapequa. The man had been shot as he was approaching a car that was parked illegally in Queens.

Diller is married and has a 1-year-old son. Trump’s visit comes right as President Joe Biden is scheduled to be in New York City to attend a fundraiser hosted by former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton. Following the announcement that Trump would be attending the wake, many social media posts pointed out how different Trump’s visit to the wake would be when compared to Biden’s fundraising.

Trump has frequently argued that crime in Democrat cities has escalated greatly and has argued that police officers need to be immunized for potential misconduct.

However, he has also slammed local prosecutors, the Justice Department as well as the FBI following the criminal cases that were brought forward against him. He has also embraced those who have been imprisoned because of their participation in the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack, as many of them were his supporters.
