(TruthAndLiberty.com) – On Friday during the California Republican Convention, former President Trump used his speech to mock House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.). Trump specifically told the crowd that they were going to stand up against Pelosi who destroyed San Francisco. He then questioned if anyone knew how Pelosi’s husband was doing.
As he pointed out Pelosi was against building a border wall while her own home has a wall. However, as he pointed out, the wall outside of Pelosi’s house “didn’t do a very good job.”
Trump frequently attacks Pelosi, whom he had to frequently confront during his time in the White House. The comments about Pelosi’s husband and home security were a clear reference to the intruder who had entered the former Speaker’s home and had attacked Paul Pelosi leaving him in critical condition.
At the time Trump had called the incident a “terrible thing.” However, only a week later his son Donald Trump Jr., had posted memes featuring hammers, which was the weapon that had been used during the attack.
California as a state is not competitive in the general presidential election, still, it is an important state in the Republican primary. This is why Trump used his speech to appeal to the Republicans in the state while blasting California’s Democratic leadership. Trump argued that together they were going to be able to stop America’s decline and argued that they would stop the destruction of California which had once been a great state.
Trump also used his speech to slam the several legal cases filed against him, and claim that the Justice Department was targeting him.
