(TruthAndLiberty.com) – On Tuesday, former Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) during an appearance on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” slammed former President Donald Trump over his recent statement on abortion, in which he tried to be moderate on the issue. Trump also suggested that his official position on the topic was not a reflection of a core “belief.”
Pelosi argued that the issue right now was a democracy issue as it related to whether or not women had the right to choose. She added that this was about women having the freedom to make their own choices and decisions. She continued by saying that Trump with his statements a day earlier was either “stupid” or believed that everyone else was stupid.
On Monday Trump put out a statement in which he announced his official abortion position. As he argued this was an issue that should be left to the states to decide which policies they wanted to take. He also took a firm stance against any abortion federal ban.
On Tuesday Pelosi also slammed the announcement’s press coverage and suggested that Trump’s position was a reflection of a core “belief.” She continued by noting that Trump took a lot of pride in overturning Roe v. Wade. She added that the writing of the statement made her laugh as Trump did not believe in states having control, instead, he believed in his political survival, which is what he was trying to ensure with this statement.
However, Pelosi argued that it was not possible to just be a “little bit pro-life” and that people either were or they were not.
