(TruthAndLiberty.com) – In an interview with MSNBC’s Jen Psaki, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) stated that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) had made some important errors in his GOP presidential campaign for 2024

On MSNBC’s “Inside with Jen Psaki,” Psaki asked Ocasio-Cortez if she believes that former President Donald Trump would be the easiest Republican candidate to beat for President Joe Biden. In response, the Democrat representative argued that while there are things that could be said about that assertion, in reality the dynamics of the presidential race change on a daily basis. She then argued that DeSantis had made some critical errors in his campaign.

Ocasio-Cortez proceeded to note that DeSantis, who has served as the governor of Florida since 2019 has been trying to “out-Trump Trump.” However, as she said that is not possible, which has just resulted in his attacks on education and the LGBTQ community going too far. As she argued this has been a miscalculation on his part.

She also pointed out that DeSantis with his actions has completely lost the opportunity of presenting himself as the rational candidate when compared to Trump. As she pointed out this has meant that instead of targeting uncertain voters, he is instead trying to win support from a base that already belongs to Trump.

She added that most people believed that what would have made him a competitive candidate would have been if he appeared to be a more rational option than Trump, but he has proved that he is not one.
