(TruthAndLiberty.com) – Former House of Representatives Republican leader Liz Cheney announced her latest plan to try and ensure that former President Donald Trump would not be returning to the White House.

On Wednesday after the last remaining Trump rival in the Republican primary race, Nikki Haley dropped out of the race, Cheney announced that as part of her efforts, she would be launching a Political Action Committee that would be entirely focused on ensuring that President Biden would get re-elected.

Cheney took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to write that the Republican party had chosen to nominate someone who had previously tried to seize control of the government by attempting to overturn the election results. She added that they now had eight months to ensure that the American republic would survive and that Trump would not be near the Oval Office ever again. She proceeded to call for people to join her in the fight for the country’s future.

“The Great Task” PAC, which takes its name from a speech by Abraham Lincoln, notes on its website that it is focused on ensuring that the nation would survive and that its people would have newfound freedoms as Lincoln had famously said in his speech.

Cheney had previously been the chair of the House Republican Conference and held the third-highest position in the House GOP from 2019 to 2021. However, after serving as the Select Committee to Investigate the January 6 Attack on the United States Capitol vice chair she lost the primary election in her district.

She previously published a memoir “Oath and Honor” in which she gives a firsthand account of what had occurred during the Capitol insurrection on Jan. 6, 2021.
