(TruthAndLiberty.com) – Former President Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law Lara Trump has officially announced her bid to become the Republican National Committee’s (RNC) co-chair. The announcement came only one day after Ronna McDaniel, the current RNC chairwoman, and her co-chair announced that they would be stepping down from their positions.
Previously Michael Whatley, who much like Lara Trump had Donald Trump’s backing to replace McDaniel had announced that he would be officially trying to become the RNC’s chair.
Lara Trump in her post on X, formerly known as Twitter pointed out that Whatley was going to do a great job and argued that it would be her honor to work with him in order to secure the country’s future. She added that she was excited to announce her own candidacy as the RNC co-chair. She then vowed that she would be laser-focused on election integrity, increasing voter turnout and ensuring that all funding would be spent on winning.
Lara Trump additionally noted in a letter to the 168 RNC members that she was proud to have received the endorsement of the 45th president, Donald J. Trump, her father-in-law for this role and that she understood how important this position was.
Politico reported that Lara Trump had proceeded to write that she was looking forward to connecting with RNC members in the coming days and winning people’s votes.
Her announcement falls in line with the plans for the former president to remake the RNC along with his 2024 presidential campaign and have its leadership be in the hands of people he trusted.
