(TruthAndLiberty.com) – President Joe Biden’s reelection campaign has taken to referring to former President Donald Trump as “Broken Don” using a strategy that the former President is well known for.

During his presidential campaigns, Trump has repeatedly used nicknames as a means of diminishing his presidential opponents. Trump has used a variety of nicknames including “Crooked Hillary,” “Little Marco” and “lyin’ Ted.” Joe Biden for example throughout the 2020 presidential campaign was frequently referred to by Trump as “Sleepy Joe.”

The Biden campaign is now attempting to use this sort of campaign against Trump, by having the nickname stick to him. This week the messaging appeared to be successful as Trump’s fundraising numbers continued to lag in the 2024 presidential race.

Trump has often used nicknames to pick on his opponents with many of the nicknames he has used being considered either silly or name-calling. The Biden team with their statements have often attempted to make fun of Trump for his growing debts as he is facing a number of legal cases. However, as one Democratic strategist pointed out, despite these attempts to get under Trump’s skin they have not managed to get this strategy to work.

As the strategist pointed out it is not possible to beat Trump in his own game and the Biden campaign needed to be more creative in using a unique strategy in their attack on Trump if they wanted to shock him.

Former official under President George W. Bush Bruce Mehlman in his statement cited George Bernard Shaw for having famously advised that wrestling with a pig will only result in both of them getting dirty but a pig would like it.
