Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., claimed during an appearance on the podcast “On with Kara Swisher” with podcast host Kara Swisher that she was concerned about the possibility of former President Donald Trump putting her in jail if he wins back the Oval Office in the upcoming presidential election.
The interview was published on Thursday and in it, Ocasio-Cortez talked about the power of technology corporations, artificial intelligence, Israel, and the 2024 presidential election. While speaking about the election Ocasio-Cortez argued that she knows it sounds crazy but she would not find it surprising if Trump ended up putting her in jail. She added that Trump was out of his mind and that throughout his first presidential campaign, he had used the phrase “lock her up.” She continued by stating that this was his motto and that she was taking Trump “at his word.”
Ocasio-Cortez specifically pointed out that she takes Trump seriously when threatens to round up people or journalists. She noted that she believed that the first term Trump had in office was an amuse-bouche to his true intentions and that now he knew better than to appoint professionals as he had done in his first time as President. She added that this is not a mistake that Trump is planning on making again.
Trump in a recent interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity had stated that he would be seeking retribution from all those who had wronged him. He had specified that those people were wrong and that they needed to do something or else the country would be destroyed. He added that he has every right to go after them.
