(TruthAndLiberty.com) – Former President Barack Obama’s team and the White House opposed the criticisms that claimed that based on a video from the Los Angeles fundraiser, President Biden appeared to have frozen up on stage. In the video, it looks like Obama had to lead the current president off the stage.
The New York Post in their report of the incident noted that Biden appeared to be frozen on stage during the large LA fundraiser which featured many celebrities. On Saturday Biden had been in California for the fundraiser which according to a report from Mediaite brought in over $30 million.
Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel hosted the event, at the end of which both Biden and Obama started to leave the stage while waving to the crowd. Obama then proceeded to grab Biden by the hand, pat his back, and lead him away.
Following the reports about Biden freezing up, senior Deputy press secretary Andrew Bates was quick to deny the characterization of the New York Post over what had occurred. Bates in his statement pointed out that at least 6 mainstream news organizations were spreading lies about Biden, and that the New York Post had once again resorted to disrespecting its readers by pretending that the President had done something wrong by taking the time to wave to a crowd. He then called into question the ethics of the publication.
Obama’s senior adviser Eric Schultz also took to the social media platform X to repost the article by the New York Post and write that this had not happened.
