(TruthandLiberty.com) – If you’re a corrupt leader of a foreign nation, the United States is sending a message: Don’t try to come to America.
On Tuesday, July 20, the US Department of Justice released a statement that the US government is barring former Honduras President, Porfirio Lobo Sosa, his wife and immediate family from entering the country. The couple was allegedly involved in “significant corruption” while the former president served in office from 2010 to 2014.

Earlier in July, the State Department stripped the Sosas of their visas. The agency said the former president accepted bribes from the nation’s narcotics traffic organization, Los Cachiros. He’s also under investigation for illegal drug money laundering. The former first lady of Honduras has been accused of fraud and using public money for personal benefit. She is currently out of jail as she prepares for a retrial of her case; her initial sentence of 58 years in prison was overturned in March 2020.
In addition to the former first couple’s problems, Lobo Sosa’s son was recently convicted for conspiring to import cocaine into the United States. The guilty plea earned him 24 years in prison.
Corrupt officials like the Sosas have no business entering the country. Hopefully, other world leaders will get the message loud and clear.
